From crush to couple: moving an undefined thing forward
If you text a lot but nothing moves: meet more than you message, confirm before you confess.
Meet, don't just message
Long daily chats feel comfortable but don't move things forward. Feelings grow from time in the same room. When a conversation is going well, turn it into a concrete plan.
Offer a choice
Instead of "let's hang out sometime", try "Thursday or Saturday?" A question they only have to choose from, not accept or reject, takes the pressure off.
Confirm, then confess
A confession doesn't create feelings; it names ones that already exist. First check whether they reach out, make plans and make time for you. When those signs are there, say it briefly and simply.
If they say no
Close with "Thanks for telling me." Asking why, or trying to stay close 'as friends', makes it more awkward for both of you. The impression of someone who stepped back respectfully lasts.
