If you've decided to let go: an order that hurts less
When the goal is getting yourself back rather than getting them back: the first week, the first month, and after.
Week one: a routine that holds you
Small repetitions carry you better than big resolutions: wake at the same time, go outside once a day, don't skip meals. Nights are hardest, so set one pre-sleep routine.
Clearing the traces
Trying to delete photos and chats one by one makes you relive each one. Move them all to an archive or folder at once and mute notifications; that's enough.
Month one: see the whole relationship
Replaying only the last scene makes them loom larger than they were. Write side by side what was good, what was hard, and what you put up with. You wouldn't judge a film by its last five minutes; a relationship, too, only shows its true size when you see it start to finish.
When you meet someone new
Dating to fill the gap in a hurry usually ends in comparison. You're ready for someone new when an evening alone feels bearable.
